If you don’t know the Campfire Cassettes already, you’re in for a real treat. Any band that describes themselves as “semi-fucked indie folk by semi-fucked indie folk” definitely deserves a listen in our book. Of course, that’s not all they have to say about themselves:

Campfire Cassettes is a Los Angeles based, indie folk band that was started in 2012 by Jonathan Buchanan. Influenced by bands like the Magnetic Fields and Neutral Milk Hotel, Jonathan bought himself a cheap acoustic guitar and once he learned to play the darm thing, started writing quirky, short songs often featuring his dark sense of humor.

Over the next 2 years Campfire Cassettes has played over 40 shows, toured the west coast, released a self titled EP and a full length titled GosLebrock.

Since their last release, the band has grown into a solid four piece featuring Angie Parrish on additional vocals and percussion, Bobby Woo on drums and William Stagg Schulz on bass.

The Campfire Cassettes have previously performed at “I Made You A Mixtape” at Room 5 on La Brea and have been long-time friends of the Frog. This Saturday, September 19th, the Campfire Cassettes will debut their new album, “Raised Wrong” at Hotel Cafe in Hollywood.
