Friend of the Frog, Coby Brown is more than just one of the many talented musicians appearing in I Made You A Mix Tape at Hotel Cafe. You may have heard Coby’s songs in feature films such as The River Why, Answers to Nothing, Lo-Fidelity and Loosies. Plus his song, “Hospital” was featured on the hit show Shameless, AND covered by a little band called the Counting Crows on their album, Underwater Sunshine.

Coby Brown recently finished composing for the feature film The Man Who Knew Infinity, a biopic of the Indian mathematics genius, Ramanujan, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival and was the opening night selection at the Zurich Film Festival. The Man Who Knew Infinity stars Dev Patel and Jeremy Irons and was written and directed by Coby’s brother, Matthew Brown. It hits theaters on April 29th, so be sure to keep an eye out! Coby also recently scored several episodes of PBS’s Angeleno, a new character driven series that highlights the diversity and spirit of LA residents, directed by Peter Jones.

His success in the film and television world hasn’t stopped Coby from continuing to write and perform as a singer / songwriter. Aside from his aforementioned appearance in I Made You A Mix Tape, Coby will be back at the Hotel Cafe on April 16th at 8pm. Grab your tickets HERE before they sell out!
