Yesterday, some friends of the Frog released a video. Will it change the way you view the world? Or will it SAVE YOUR LIFE?!! Well, neither, really, but hopefully it will amuse you and get you excited about SF Sketchfest 2016.

Have you ever noticed how certain commercials seem to share a common DNA? Almost as if they exist in a shared, Marvel-like Universe? Take, for example, these two commercials:

What if those two commercials not only existed in the same dimension but were happening at the exact same time at the exact same house? That is the question director and Frog Founder David Fickas asks in this short teaser trailer he shot for the fine folks at SF Sketchfest starring Curtis Armstrong and Gary Anthony Williams. Check it out:

If you don’t know SF Sketchfest, you clearly haven’t been following us on the Frog for very long. Either that or you never listen when we’re talking which is something we’ll be working on in our next couples counseling session! Regardless of that, a little reminder probably doesn’t hurt. Here is a brief history from their website:

SF Sketchfest was founded in 2001 by David Owen, Cole Stratton and Janet Varney as a way to showcase the talents of six Bay Area sketch comedy groups: The Fresh Robots, Kasper Hauser, The Meehan Brothers, Please Leave the Bronx, Totally False People and White Noise Radio Theatre. The festival debuted in January of 2002 at the Shelton Theatre in downtown San Francisco and has grown rapidly into a nationally recognized comedy festival that mixes national headliners, local favorites and the best up-and-coming groups from throughout North America for a month of sketch, improv, stand-up and alternative comedy. A favorite with audiences, critics, and performers alike, the festival has grown substantially to become a highly anticipated artistic showcase that consistently delivers top quality comedic performances, tributes and panel discussions. To learn about past participants, visit the Archive and Photos pages.

Audiences have overwhelmingly responded to SF Sketchfest’s diverse programming which has featured performers from every major North American television comedy smash of the last 25 years including Saturday Night Live, The Kids in the Hall, Mr. Show, Arrested Development, The Upright Citizens Brigade, The State, Mystery Science Theatre 3000, Strangers With Candy, The Simpsons, The Daily Show and more. SF Sketchfest offers its audiences the rare opportunity to see their favorite performers in intimate live performances and discussions.

Not only does Drama 3/4 make the SF Sketchfest Trailer every year, they have performed there in years past, last year taking one of their very popular Mix Tape shows there.

So stay tuned here for the lineup of this year’s SF Sketchfest, as it is bound to have some familiar names and faces.

Until then, Froggies, keep an eye out your window for wandering Reverse Mortgage salesmen.
