We at the Frog love nothing more than when our talented friends get the recognition they deserve for their hard work and dedication. Consequently, we were delighted to discover that Friend of the Frog Leonora Pitts‘ short film, Step 9 has been named an official selection for the Aspen Film Festival!

Step 9 stars Mary Elizabeth Ellis and Artemis Pebdani as a best friend duo that embarks on a hilarious and heartfelt search for redemption. Frog staffers Brice, David and Riley were honored to be the editing team behind Leonora’s brilliant writing and direction, and the film is beautifully scored by Scott Pitts and Adam Beamer. If you find yourself at the Aspen Film Festival, April 5th-10th, be sure and check it out! Step 9 debuted in the Hollywood Reel Independent Film Fest in February and appeared a few weeks ago in the Women’s Film Festival in Philadelphia, PA. It will also be featured in the Vail Film Festival, the Athens International Film and Video Festival, and the list keeps growing!

Aside from being a kick-ass filmmaker, teacher, and community activist, Leonora Pitts has numerous acting credits with appearances on Togetherness, Manson Family Vacation, It’s Always Sunny in PhiladelphiaI Hate My 30s and Boston Public. Plus she was recently appointed as a Commissioner of the City of Los Angeles by Mayor Eric Garcetti and serves on the board of directors for the Independent Shakespeare Company.
